How it works
Dominic was born with a viral infection called CMV, which stands for Cytomegalovirus. This virus attacked Dominic’s little growing body, causing him to have all sorts of issues. One of the most challenging things that Dominic has to deal with on a daily basis is spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a permanent neuromuscular disorder causing limitation on all four limbs. Dominic also has zero trunk support, so he’s not able to hold his head up at all. Needless to say, he’s sitting most of the day.
This P Pod chair is awesome for someone like Dominic! It’s extremely comfortable while also being super supportive! If you didn’t know, Dominic is also on oxygen 24/7 and has a saturation monitor hooked up to him as well as a feeding tube for 18 hours a day, so he doesn’t move around a whole lot. This chair allows him to sit up in a great position where he’s able to breathe well and stay comfortable for most of the day. I would love to be able to get Dominic this new chair for his birthday/Christmas, but right now it’s just not in the budget. If you are able to help in anyway, it would be so greatly appreciated.
