How it works
I was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome plus dysautonomia in September of 2021, and despite having been sick for years, this really sent me through a loop. It made me realize my condition was chronic, and inevitably progressive. I had some initial success with treatment, regaining skills I had lost, however, recently, we are back to the point where treatment is only slowing progression, and what I worked for in physical therapy is slowly going away. One of those improvements was the ability to sit independently for longer periods of time. I am losing my postural stability, which means I'm stuck in bed or my wheelchair, and have to place to truly relax, read my books, or play on my switch. I'm hoping for help in getting the P Pod, and thus an alternate place to rest. My wheelchair is designed for function, not relaxing, so most of my time is spent in bed. Because of this, my bed is no longer correlated with sleep and I'm having severe insomnia. Thank you for your help in improving my quality of life.
