Measurements for Adaptive Star
Note:
Please take the passenger’s measurements while they are in a relaxed, natural sitting position, as this reflects how they will be seated in the pushchair.
Tips for Accurate Measurements
To ensure the rider’s comfort and safety in their chair, it’s essential to provide accurate measurements. Please follow the
guidelines below, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
• For best results, seat the rider in a firm, open-back chair—ideally a kitchen chair or their wheelchair.
• Important: Try not take measurements while the individual is lying down unless it is difficult for them to sit upright.
-
• Make sure they are seated in a natural, relaxed position. This reflects how they will be positioned in the chair.
• Keep the measuring tape straight and level. Do not curve it along the body. -
• When measuring from the tailbone to the top of the head (Seated Height), it helps to use a ruler placed horizontally across the top of the head. Measure from the tailbone up to the bottom edge of the ruler.
-
• You can use the same method for Seat Depth—placing a ruler under the back of the knee and measuring from the back of the hip to the ruler.
Helpful Tips
(Lower Leg Length, Seat Depth, and Seated Height)
(Standing/ Total Height)
-
• The Lower Leg Length, Seat Depth, and Seated Height combined should be close (or equal to) the rider’s Total Height (in inches). If you notice a large discrepancy between these totals, please remeasure.
-
• Seat Depth and Lower Leg Length should be nearly equal.
