The Freedom Concepts AS 2000 RSSE features the AS 2000 XT frame, which is an extended or stretch tricycle frame, which keeps legs optimally positioned up and in front of the rider, while still allowing enough girth between the rear wheels for an extremely stable and balanced result. This extended frame is ideal for special needs users who display very poor trunk and/or head self-support capabilities.
The AS 2000 RSSE includes Freedom Concepts’ comfortable and contoured adult seat base with their fully adjustable adult tilt seat back, complete with a large chest harness, along with 2” chest and hip belts for safety and optimal user support and positioning. This trike’s seating system is compatible with a host of optional accessories, to meet an astonishing array of diverse special needs and provide all the targeted support you, as a carer, could possibly envision for your rider.
The Freedom Concepts AS 2000 RSSE has a unique, self-centering-spring, which will assist the user’s hand-eye co-ordination whilst they are learning to ride and reap the many benefits of regular cycling therapy.
The Freedom Concepts AS 2000 RSSE boasts three 20” smooth, never-go-flat tires on aluminum wheels, along with a 6” crank, front Vee brake, rear disc brake and a parking/ locking hand brake for smooth and easy maneuvering and seamless transfer. Average pedaling power and direct-drive gearing encourages the reciprocal patterning of legs, while the trike’s heavy duty steel enclosed chain is unable to accidentally come in contact with the happy rider’s legs. The AS 2000 RSSE comes complete with secure, molded ABS footplates and comfortable, adjustable hoop handlebars.
For maximum coolness and expression, the AS 2000 RSSE is available in a selection of stunning colors, including blue, red, black, pink, yellow, amber, metallic blue, metallic orange, candy blue, hot rod purple and grape. What’s more, these colors can be mixed and matched and, together with the trike’s groovy, chrome fork, your loved one will be looking the part as well as feeling it. Additional features include a bell and safety flag, wheel reflectors and a multi tool.
As with all of Freedom Concepts’ innovative adaptive trikes, the AS 2000 RSSE is about creating a feeling of independence for the special needs user, who will also begin to feel a sense of social inclusion, as they join their peers on the park or playground cycling trail.
Yet there is more to riding therapy than a gaining of independence and a feeling of inclusion, as riding therapy is rich with physical health benefits such as improved circulation, improved posture and balance, a strengthening of anti-gravity muscles and enhanced core strength and range of motion.
