Lennon's Story
Lennon is an incredible kid who faces the world with severe autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and Tourette syndrome. He’s minimally verbal, but he communicates so much in his own way—and one thing that’s always clear is how much he struggles with anxiety, especially in everyday situations most of us take for granted.
New places, loud noises, bright lights, busy crowds—these things can easily become overwhelming. When that happens, Lennon can become extremely anxious or upset. He may lash out or try to run, which puts him at serious risk. These moments are hard, not just for him, but for our whole family.
What helps most is something simple: a safe space that feels like his. That’s why we’re fundraising for the Convaid Cruiser adaptive stroller.
Lennon has always gravitated toward strollers and wagons. They give him a sense of comfort, predictability, and ownership—a place to retreat when the world feels too much. But as he’s grown, most of the strollers or wagons on the market just don’t work anymore. Our last wagon had a 110 lb weight limit (55 per seat), and even though Lennon squeezed in at 120 lbs, it was uncomfortable for him and incredibly difficult for me to pull. Other models we tried were too small—tight footwells, limited seat space, no real support—and the safety straps weren’t usable at all for his needs.
The Convaid Cruiser is different. It’s built specifically for individuals like Lennon. It supports up to 250 lbs and offers the structure, comfort, and adaptability that typical strollers and wagons don’t. It’s not just a way to get around—it’s a vital tool to help him stay regulated, feel secure, and safely join in on family outings, appointments, and everyday errands.
This isn’t just about convenience—it’s about inclusion, safety, and quality of life. With your help, we can give Lennon the support he needs to be part of the world around him, with fewer meltdowns, fewer risks, and more peace—for him and for all of us.
