Hello Kind People,
My name is Jackie and I'm fundraising for my wonderful 8-year-old great grandson, Lucas.
Lucas has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, which affect his mobility and require him to use a wheelchair with assistance. However, his current wheelchair is not suitable for all outings. It’s heavy and difficult to put in a car for transport. And because of his condition, Lucas rocks his upper body and pushes backwards in the wheelchair, almost tipping it over. It has just become very unsafe. He really needs both a stroller along with the wheelchair he has now.
We are hoping to raise $5,091.00 for a new specialized stroller called the “Convaid Coaster.” Unfortunately, insurance and Medicaid will not cover the cost of the stroller.
This stroller is lightweight, foldable, and designed to provide the necessary support and safety for Lucas, while being easy to transport. My granddaughter, Emilie, is Lucas’ mother and caregiver. She is a very small lady, and as Lucas continues to grow, anything that will make it easier to transport him will be greatly appreciated and urgently needed.
We are asking for your help to raise these funds so we can give Lucas a safe and comfortable ride so he can explore the world like any 8-year-old boy. Every donation brings us one step closer to making this happen.
