My son was Leo was born at 33 weeks and 3 days. I experienced pre-eclampsia throughout my pregnancy and was in and out of the hospital in the last month. My placenta ruptured after 8 hours of natural labor and I was rushed back for an emergency C-section. He was born lifeless - it took 20 minutes and multiple rounds of cpr and life saving measures to get him to take his first breath and we didn't get to hold him until 4 days later. He now suffers from cerebral palsy, epilepsy, hie, hip dysplasia and has a Gtube since he cannot eat by mouth. He is occupational, physical and speech therapies on top of seeing Shriners hospital for children and receiving his first pair of AFO's. He will be two in September and still isn't walking or crawling but has amazing head and back control and is ready to stand to play!
