Hello All! This is Asher. He is an almost 7 year old little boy that was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. He is one of the happiest little guys you will ever meet. His smile lights up a room in way I've never seen before. He is the youngest of three boys. Asher's older brothers are very energetic, love to go outside to play, go on hikes, and ride their bikes around. For Asher, staying cooped up in the home, not being able to experience things his brothers or peers can do is very sad. He is fully reliant on us and a wheelchair to get around. Getting around isn't the easiest thing to do.
During this pandemic, we have had to be very careful with him, staying at home, and even simply doing things away from people. Last spring, we did a lot of bike riding as a family. It was a great way to get out but still stay safe. We purchased a bike trailer a few years back for smaller and younger children that worked at the time. Since last year, Asher has grown by leaps and bounds and no longer fits safely. He is currently too big for anything that is easily purchased at a store or not categorized as special needs.
The next best thing is this Josi stroller/jogger/bike trailer. This would allow us to not only take bike rides as a family again but support Asher on more rugged terrain while chasing after his brothers like walks in the woods or down to the beach without affecting his safety or comfort. Unfortunately, with this comes what I call "special needs tax". These items provide the needed support, safety, and comfortability for Asher and come with a price that often makes those simple needs nearly unreachable. We are a Military family with one income due to the daily needs that Asher requires.
This is where we hope that you will help us. We hope that you feel led to donate to help us provide Asher another means to play, become more involved with his peers, his brothers, and the world around him. To allow us to be able to have family time and go on family walks, or rides without having to have someone stay back with Asher.
